Morph Rules
Morph rules adjust equipment fit when items are combined. For example, high boots request Boots_high on the pants component to reduce intersections. The receiving Skeletal Mesh must already contain a morph target with that exact name.
Rule fields#
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Equipment Type | Type of the equipped source item; parent types match descendants |
| Slot | Equipment slot holding that source item |
| Target Slot | Equipment slot whose mesh receives the morph |
| Morph | Exact morph target name on the receiving mesh |
| Value | Morph weight to apply |
The source Slot and the item's Equipment Type must both match. Morph targets are applied to equipment components, not directly to body-part material sections.
Example#
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Equipment Type | ROG. |
| Slot | ROG. |
| Target Slot | ROG. |
| Morph | Boots_ |
| Value | 1. |
Equip the pants and then the high boots. The pants mesh receives Boots_high = 1.0. If the pants mesh has no such target, the rule cannot create the deformation.
Inheritance and order#
For one source item, all matching morph rules are processed in list order. Different morphs accumulate. For the same Target Slot and Morph, a later rule replaces an earlier value. Put general rules before specific overrides.
For example, custom rules for ROG.EquipmentType.Gloves may set Morph_Gloves = 1 and Morph_Fingers = 0.5 on a receiving mesh. A later rule for ROG.EquipmentType.Gloves.BaseOpen may set Morph_Fingers = 1. An item of BaseOpen type then contributes both Morph_Gloves = 1 and Morph_Fingers = 1. These example morph names must exist on your mesh before use.
The plugin does not sort rules by tag depth. Putting the parent override last can overwrite a child value.
Several source items#
When several equipped pieces influence the same target morph, the value with the largest absolute magnitude wins. Values are not added. Equal magnitudes keep the contribution from the source slot first in alphabetical Gameplay Tag order.
After an outfit change, the plugin recomputes influences from the applied items. A previously managed morph with no remaining influence resets to zero. Morph names outside the plugin's managed set are preserved. Avoid having your own systems independently drive the same fit morph names.
Use Static Print Debug Morph Rules for a settings-level rule dump. To diagnose a missing result, check the source slot, full type tag, target slot mapping, target mesh and exact morph name.
